Spreading Holiday Cheer

buddy backpack photo with creditOur satellite office in Coats, North Carolina, is spreading a bit of year-round cheer via the Buddy Backpack program. Each month, volunteers from the Coats DAA office fill 100 bags with nutritious food that is discreetly distributed to families in need. Children in need are identified by teachers, social workers, and guidance counselors who then contact the family to see if their child can participate in the program. Thanks to the three Buddy Backpack chapters in Harnett County, children are given access to meals during holidays and weekends when they might have needed to go without.

Christmas Gifts 1Additionally, in the spirit of giving this holiday season, Draper Aden Associates adopted families in the communities surrounding each office to act as a Secret Santa for. Employees chose gifts from each child’s wish list and then delivered them the week of Christmas. This year, the Blacksburg DAA family wrapped and delivered presents ranging from sleds to sweaters and delivered them to two young boys in the region. I don’t think we’ll see a white Christmas here, but if it happens, these boys will be prepared!
