Draper Aden Associates Hires Robert Barclay as Chief Human Resources Officer
Barclay Brings Extensive Leadership and HR Experience
RICHMOND, VA – March 15, 2021 – Draper Aden Associates, a Mid-Atlantic engineering, surveying, and environmental services firm, announced today that Robert Barclay joined the firm as Chief Human Resources Officer. Based in the Richmond office, he will provide strategic and day-to-day operational leadership to the Human Resources and Corporate Health and Safety teams. Barclay also will serve on the firm’s Executive Team.
He has 25 years of experience in human resources and brings a wide breadth of expertise to Draper Aden.

Prior to joining Draper Aden, Barclay served as the Vice President of Administrative Services and HR with Discovery Natural Resources in Denver, CO. In this position, he was responsible for leading the Human Resources, IT, Corporate Security, and Office Administration teams. Barclay also has held HR leadership positions with Ovintiv and Medtronic.

Recognizing the value of professional development, he is an active member of the Society of Human Resource Management. Barclay also holds a number of advanced certifications, including Behavioral Based Interviewing Certificate and Conflict Management and Mediation Certificate. He is a Lean and Six Sigma Green Belt as well.
Barclay earned a Master of Arts degree in Human Resources and Industrial Relations from the University of Minnesota and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Political Science from McGill University.
