Washington and Lee Campus Green

In order to create a visual connection and attractive walking flow between the core campus, the Washington Street corridor, the Lenfest Center for the Arts, and the City of Lexington, several structures were demolished and others renovated, creating a park setting and fresh, welcoming look to existing buildings. The newly created pedestrian walkway encourages foot traffic across Washington Street and through the Campus Green and Gaines Hall to the Lenfest Center. Amenities include benches, lawns for casual play, outdoor art, low-level lighting, and a dog fountain for the enjoyment of both campus and City residents.
