Draper Aden worked with the Town of Erwin to create and file an application with the North Carolina Parks and Recreation for a PARTF grant to upgrade a 30+ year old, well-loved, and heavily used recreational park within the Town. The grant application was awarded in 2014 for a total project budget of approximately $200,000. The park site included two intersecting streams and a mature growth of well-spaced trees. The team integrated these natural features into the overall park design and added new walking trails, benches, a new parking lot, a new picnic shelter, new grills, and a new toddler playground. In addition, the existing parking lot, picnic shelter, and basketball court were fully renovated and given a brand new look.
