A growing Blacksburg community needed additional housing and a hotel to accommodate residents, tourists, and Virginia Tech students. Our initial due diligence that included an environmental assessment and surveying facilitated the transformation of a highly-visible 13-acre site, which coincidentally housed an abandoned hotel, into Smith’s Landing, a mixed-use development developed by and named for notable Virginia Tech alum, Bruce Smith. The development features an apartment complex, retail, and a Hilton Garden Inn.
Working alongside the project’s architect-of-record, CMSS Architects (now Mason and Hanger), we led the development of the site plan from conceptual design to construction documents and provided construction phase services and inspections.
