Town of Erwin W.N. Porter Park

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The Draper Aden Associates team worked with the Town of Erwin to create and file an application with the North Carolina Parks and Recreation for a PARTF grant to upgrade a 30+ year old well-loved and heavily used recreational park within the Town. The grant application was awarded in 2014 for a total project budget of approximately $200,000. The park site included two intersecting streams and a mature growth of well-spaced trees. The team integrated these natural features into the overall park design and added new walking trails, benches, a new parking lot, a new picnic shelter, new grills and a new toddler playground. In addition, the existing parking lot, picnic shelter, and basketball court were fully renovated and given a brand new look.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]...

At the recommendation of the Town, assisted the prospective developer with the Eligibility Letter, Brownfield Application, assessment activities and negotiated the draft and final Brownfields Agreement. We saved the client almost $500,000 by using site development plans and soil assessment result as basis to remove the need for soil excavation as part of the Brownfields Agreement.   Draper Aden performed all underground storage tank (UST) removal activities for a property transaction that involved the Town’s right-of-way, including soil excavation, groundwater sampling and NCDENR reporting to obtain a Notice of No Further Action.   We also conducted a major soil assessment for the Edenton Chowan Economic Development Partnership at a firing range within a planned industrial park. The land use in the project area is heavily developed with mostly commercial properties and City of Portsmouth buildings. In addition to being the designers for the project, Draper Aden provided program management services during the design and construction phases of the project. As part of these services, Draper Aden provided detailed construction sequencing plans, construction phasing schedules, and alternative access options for property owners.
