Draper Aden’s Blacksburg Office Celebrates 10 Years of Partnership with Meals on Wheels

Our firm’s commitment to leaving a lasting, positive impact in the communities where we live, work, and serve is about more than words on a piece of paper. It’s at the very heart of who we are and what we do. It’s also the reason that we’re so excited to celebrate our Blacksburg office’s 10 years of partnership with Meals on Wheels!

What began as an officewide volunteer effort in 2008 has blossomed into an enduring collaboration between team members in Blacksburg and the Meals on Wheels program with Radford-Fairlawn Daily Bread.

For the past decade, team members in our Blacksburg office have spent two hours each Friday driving throughout the New River Valley to bring nourishment and a friendly face to homebound seniors in the region. Over the years, more than 50 team members have been involved with this effort. Almost every week, two co-workers visit 10 – 14 people, depending on the route. Although it’s difficult to calculate the total number of meals over that time, Draper Aden team members have donated over 3,500 volunteer hours! This incredible accomplishment is a testament to our team’s commitment to serving others.

According to its website, Meals on Wheels America is the oldest and largest national organization supporting community-based senior nutrition programs. There are more than 5,000 Meals on Wheels programs across the United States and you can find a program in virtually every community in this country. We’re proud to be among the more than two million volunteers that partner with Meals on Wheels!

It’s our honor to support this incredible organization and make an impact in our community. Our Richmond office also participates in Meals on Wheels on a weekly basis. To learn how you can contribute and join this movement, visit the Meals on Wheels America website to find a program near you and volunteer opportunities.

As we recognize our partnership over the past 10 years, we look forward to another decade of making a lasting, positive impact in the Blacksburg community through our volunteer efforts with Meals on Wheels and other local nonprofit organizations.
