Extreme Stream Makeover
As well as being a contributing sponsor, Draper Aden Associates employees were part of the over
700 volunteers who participated in this year's Extreme Stream Makeover.
On October 20, 2008,
the James River Association, with the help of local government, businesses and organizations, kicked
off Extreme Stream Makeover 2008. This year's project, the second of its kind, benefited the
Horsepen Branch Watershed in Henrico County.
Extreme Stream Makeover is a week-long, local
project aimed at sparking greater community involvement and public action to improve and restore
water quality through a series of low impact design projects. In this case, low impact design refers
to reducing the amount of rainwater runoff from roads, buildings, parking lots, and managed turf
that enter stream and creeks and ultimately, the James River.
